The conference will take place at the Melia Seville Hotel, Seville, Spain.

The hotel boasts a privileged location opposite the Parque de Maria Luisa and Plaza España and is close to the University (Old Tobacco Factory), the Alcazar, the Barrio de Santa Cruz district and the Cathedral.

Accommodation has been reserved for conference delegates at the following preferential rates: €190.00 - based on single occupancy (per room, per night) €210.00 - based on double occupancy (per room, per night)

Guestroom rates are inclusive of VAT and include breakfast.

The companies are calling/emailing conference attendees, using email addresses which appear very similar to official Elsevier email addresses, and claiming to be the “official” housing bureau and/or authorized by Elsevier to book hotel/travel accommodations for the conference. Seville is a flat city adapted and facilitating the transit of wheelchair users. The city’s metro network is completely adapted for users with reduced mobility both in terms of trains and stations, as every station is equipped with lifts. All buses are wheelchair accessible.

By air

The closest airport is Seville Airport, also known as San Pablo Airport (SVQ).

From the airport, you can get to the centre of Seville in just 15 minutes by car/taxi and it will take just 35 minutes by bus.

Taxi Normal rate at the official taxi stand: €22.20 - Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 21:00. €24.75 - Monday to Friday, 21:00 to 07:00. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, 24 hours a day.

By train

Currently, you can reach Santa Justa Station on high-speed lines from Cordoba, Madrid, Zaragoza and Barcelona on the southwest-northeast line of the AVE and from Malaga on the AVANT trains. And thanks to high-speed connections with Europe, today a person could travel, for example, from London to Seville along high-speed rails the whole way. The location of the terminal is a15-minute walk from the city centre.

UNESCO world heritage sites

The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See with its five naves is one of the largest and most impressive churches in the world and the largest Gothic building in Europe. It houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Built in the 15th century at the site of a 12th century mosque, inside the cathedral is a spectacular golden altarpiece, the Retablo Mayor.

Royal Alcazar of Seville (Real Alcazar)

The Royal Palace of Seville is a magnificent complex of patios and halls in different architectural styles, from Mudéjar to Gothic. The heart of the complex is the Palace of King Pedro I, who constructed his royal residence in 1364 at the site of a Moorish palace.

Plaza de España

The Plaza de España is a majestic architectural complex built as the central office for the Ibero-American Exposition, a world fair held in Seville in 1929. It is located in the Maria Luisa Park, just south of Seville's historic centre.
